PK was the most awaited movie in 2014 and it had huge expectations attached to it.
It had huge opening at multiplexes with occupancies of 70% in the morning shows.It also opened good at single screens with occupancies of 50-60%.In the after noon PK showed an upward trend both at single screens and multiplexes.

As the day progressed PK picked up very well at all centers.In the night all the cinemas were showing full houses.All the multiplexes and single screens had occupancies of 100% except from some centers in north which was hit by cold weather.
According to early estimates PK will collect 27 Cr on its first day.This will be the third highest opening day only behind Happy New Year and Singham Returns.It is also second highest non holiday opening.But expectations were much high from Aamir and Raju combo.
The movie have an extremely positive word of mouth which is a very good sign.Tomorrow is the test for PK.If it showed growth even with this opening,then it means that film have been accepted and will run smoothly in next few weeks.
It has no competition for next three weeks and also have the advantage of holidays.But still life time collection of Dhoom 3 looks out of reach.
