Which Movie Can Break PK Record? 

PK released on 19th December 2014 has smashed the box office record set by Dhoom 3.It has collected 310 crore in India and 600 crore worldwide after 19 days of its release.Its life time collection will be around 350 crore.

PK was directed by Raj Kumar Hirani and it features Aamir Khan and Anushka Sharma in the lead role.Thus Aamir has beaten his own record set by Dhoom 3.He started the trend of 100 crore club (Ghajini),200 crore club (3 Idiots) and now 300 crore club with PK.The record of Ghajini stood for one year and the record of 3 Idiots stood for 4 years untill Shah Rukh Khan's Chenni Express broke it.But Aamir Khan soon smashed its record with Dhoom 3.

Now the real question is that how long the record of PK can sustain and even bigger question is which movie will break PK record.

If we look back and see then we came to know that a mega star can only bring bumper opening to a film but it can only sustain if it has solid content.We have the examples of Ra.One,Dabbang 2,Happy New Year and Bang Bang.The word of mouth for all these movies were mixed.But if the movie is disliked by the audience then we have the result of Besharam and Himmatwala.Opening day of Besharam was 20 crore while its life time collection was around 60 crore.

Word of mouth for 3 Idiots and PK was extremely positive.On the other hand response to Dhoom 3 was average but it collected large because Dhoom is the biggest franchise in Bollywood.

Now we will take a look at the upcoming movies which have the potentail of breaking PK record and entering into 300 crore club.

Fan :

It features Shah Rukh Khan and Vaani Kapoor in the lead rule and it will be directed by Manees Sharma.The music of the movie will be composed by A.R.Rehman.But still Fan have almost no chance of beating PK record.The main reason for this is the genre and story of the movie.It is the story of a fan of Shah Rukh Khan.The movie will not have universal appeal especially for masses.Though a solid perfromance from SRK is expected.

Bajrangi Bhaijaan :

Salman Khan considers Eid as his lucky period and he will once again release his movie on Eid.Bajrangi Bhaijaan will be directed by Kabir Khan who earlier delievered a blockbuster Ek Tha Tiger with Salman in 2012.While 200 crore is surely on the cards and if the content is liked then it can go a bit over 250 crore.But to go over 300 crore is a tough task.Though still it has a minor chance.

Prem Ratan Dhan Payo :

It marks the return of hit combo of Sooraj Barjatya and Salman who have earlier given blockbusters like 'Hum Aapke Hain Kon' and Hum Sath Sath Hain.It will release on the festive season of Dewali.It is a family drama so it will find tough to attarct youth.Though it will have repeat audiences.It will be tough for Prem Ratan Dhan Payo to break PK record but if it manages to inspire younger audience then it have a slight chance.

Raees :

It is a crime action movie which stars Shah Rukh Khan and Mahira Khan.The release date for Raees is not finalised yet but it can release on Dewali 2016.Shah Rukh Khan will play as a gangster in the movie.It is too early to predict its box office collection but if it has hit songs and good content then it have a chance.

Don 3 :

Shah Rukh Khan will reprise the role of Don once again in Don 3.It will release in 2017 and will be directed by Farhan Akhtar.It will get bumper opening worldwide and can emerge as SRK first 300 crore movie.But to beat PK record content has to be very good.

Dhoom 4 :

It is not sure that who will star in Dhoom 4.Both Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan are roumered to play the lead role in Dhoom 4.The opening of Dhoom 4 will be extra ordinary and it will recreate box office history in India.It will have high chances of passing PK life time collection and it may can create a new 400 crore club.

Aamir Khan's Next :

All top 3 highest worldwide grosssers (3 Idiots,Dhoom 3,PK) are Aamir starers.He is undoubtedly the biggest super star in Bollywood as far box office numbers are concerned.So there may be chance that only Aamir will break his own record.

After release of PK he has not signed any movie.There are reports that he will star in a movie titled 'Dangal' but it is not confirmed yet.

After super success if PK there is a fear that its record will not be broken for next few years just like it happened when record of 3 Idiots was not broken for 4 years.But only time will tell that how long PK record will sustain.
